Port Blair, July 30: The advertisement for the post of SSCT/BRP/CRP published in the Administration’s mouthpiece ‘The Daily Telegrams’ on 29th July 2013 has come as a blow to the jobless teachers who have crossed the age limit prescribed in the vacancy notice. A group of such unemployed teachers approached the PCC President Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma explaining their agony of an uncertain future.

The teachers explained that if the Sarava Shiksha Adbhiyan is strict to age limit of 30 years then many of them will never be able to fulfil their desire of serving the islands as a teacher.

Hearing the teachers’ plea Sharma has request to the Secretary and Director Education, A&N Administration to relax the norms of age limit from 30 – 38 years stating that the services of the teachers engaged under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan are not regular in nature.
