Port Blair, Aug 2: After having inspected the functioning of two working women’s hostels in Port Blair, the Lt Governor, Lt Gen (Retd) A K Singh has issued directions for the improvement and maintenance of these hostels.
On the direction of the Lt Governor, Shri K.K. Jindal, Secretary (Social Welfare) carried out inspections of the two hostels and submitted detail report to the Lt Governor. Based on the report, the LG has now issued instructions to the Social Welfare Department and APWD to carry out necessary repair and improvement work of the two hostels by 15th September 2013, when the Lt Governor will inspect them.
