Port Blair, Aug. 6: The PCC President Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma along with a delegation of  students seeking admission in the College and their parents met the Chief Secretary Shri Anand Prakash and Smti Rina Ray, Principal Secretary (Education) and requested them to continue the 2nd shift of Jawahar Lal Nehru Rajakeeya Vidyalaya, Port Blair.

The aspirants and their parents met the PCC Chief at Gandhi Bhavan and narrated their misery of not getting admission in the college due to scarcity of seats since the facility of 2nd shift introduced last year, has been withdrawn.

Sharma briefed the CS that last year with much efforts of the Congress Party, the A&N Administration has introduced the 2nd Shift in Jawahar Lal Nehru Rajakiya Vidyalaya under Pondicerry University, which in the current academic session has been withdrawn causing distress in  large number of students who have applied for getting admission in various streams in the College.

Sharma said as per his information about 2,100 students have applied for getting seat in their desired courses in the College but since the 2nd shift has been withdrawn and there is scarcity of seats in the College, a large number of students have been refused admission.

The Chief Secretary and  Smti Rina Ray, Principal Secretary Education have given a patient hearing and  assured reintroduction of 2nd shit in the College.
