1st Shift: 0500 hrs to 0700 hrs

Port Blair, Feb 7: The Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress President, Shri. Rangalal Halder has called upon the Health Secretary, A&N Admn. highlighting the alarming shortage of essential Medical personnel at the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Kalighat.

In a letter addressed, he said that PHC Kalighat currently grapples with a deficit in technicians, nurses and doctors, hindering essential healthcare services. Despite possessing a functional X-ray machine, the absence of qualified technicians has impeded timely diagnostic services to patients.

Patna, Feb 7: The 12th National School Chess Championship 2024 began this morning at Gyan Bhavan in Patna, Bihar. The championship is organized for school children in six different age groups: Under 7, 9, 11, 13, 15 and 17.

Kalighat Feb 7: A team of PS Kalighat apprehended two individuals and seized a substantial quantity of illicit liquor. In addition, the team confiscated a significant quantity of Lehan in the dense forest of Haren Nallah, under the jurisdiction of PS Kalighat.

On 06.02.2024, in response to information regarding the production of illicit liquor, a team led by SI Silpi Singha, SHO PS Kalighat, along with PCs Sushil Sarkar, Subrata Biswas, and Eileen, started a challenging journey of 60 km through sea, land, and unfavorable terrain to reach the Haren Nallah forest. The team conducted a raid in the dense jungle of Haren Nallah and successfully seized a significant quantity of 520 liters of Lahan, which was stored in iron and plastic drums. They also discovered various utensils and Bhatti articles used for the preparation of illicit liquor, cleverly hidden within the depths of the jungle. All confiscated items were promptly destroyed.
