Mainland-bound Vessels to Touch Nancowry, Campbell Bay Every Month, LG Directs

Port Blair, Nov. 5: The Lt Governor, Lt Gen (Retd) Bhopinder Singh, PVSM, AVSM has directed that all the Chennai bound vessels will now onwards touch Nancowry and Campbell Bay, once every month. With the mainland-bound vessels touching at Nancowry and Campbell Bay, a long pending demand of the people for Chennai bound vessel touching the southern groups of Islands, particularly Campbell Bay has been resolved.

The Lt Governor has also directed the downward revision of the passenger fares for the Islanders in MV Bambooka and MV North Passage plying for Neil & Havelock, at par with the fares applicable in similar other foreshore vessels. Accordingly, the revised fare applicable to the Islanders in MV Bambooka and MV North Passage with immediate effect will be Rs 30/- for ordinary chair and Rs 35/- for reclining chair.
