Port Blair, Dec. 28: Under the intervention of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), exposure visit are being organized in batches for the students along with escort teachers to various places of historical and scientific interest as per the curriculum of the students.

The second batch consisting a total of 197 boy students (75 ST Boys and 122 urban deprived boys) from all 09 educational blocks were selected and flagged off by Shri D N Singh, Secretary (Education) today from the auditorium of Govt SSS Mohanpura, Port Blair. On this occasion the Secretary (Edn) blessed the students and encouraged them to enjoy the trip at maximum level. He also stressed for taking care in respect of their health and safety.

The contingent left to Chennai today by M V Nicobar.

On this occasion DR. R. Dev Das, SPD (SSA) blessed and emphasized the children to take this as a golden opportunity for developing creativity and innovation through these visits and he gave proper guidelines to the students and escort teachers for care taking.

Dr M Ayyaraju, SPO, SSA also extended his blessings to the exciting and thrilled student participants.

The group is being accompanied by 18 escort teachers. Shri Wilfred Richfield and Shri Paneer Selvam have been designated as the tour manager. On completion of the tour the group shall return on 04/01/2013 to Port Blair. The Coordinator of exposure visit Mr. Shaji Thomas, APO (Quality), State Project Office (SSA) ensured all arrangements for the safe tour to mainland.
