Port Blair, Nov. 18: Vice Admiral Bimal Verma, AVSM, ADC, Commander-in-Chief, Andaman & Nicobar Command (CINCAN) laid the foundation stone for the upcoming Naval Communication Network (NCN) site at Naval Transmitting Station, Teylerabad on 15th November 2018.

The NCN has been envisioned as a smart network infrastructure with enhanced output, high quality secure services and ease of network management. The state-of-the-art network will provide Indian Navy digital supremacy at par with the best naval forces globally.

This is the first time that an integrated communication network at such a scale is being built for Indian Navy. Unparalleled in scope and size, the project includes the creation of a high capacity Internet Protocol Multi-Protocol Label Switching (IP MPLS) network linking all naval units at Andaman & Nicobar Islands and the main land through OFC backbone/ Satellite links.

The network, once commissioned will add substantial teeth to the existing operational capability of Naval forces at Andaman Nicobar Command.
