Port Blair, May 21: Myanmar Navy Ships UMS King Tabin Shwe Htee (773) and UMS Inlay arrived at Port Blair for the ‘Opening Ceremony’ of the 8th Indo-Myanmar coordinated patrol (IMCOR), yesterday.

On arrival, the Myanmar delegation led by Commodore Htein Win, Commander, Ayeyarwady Naval Command, called on Commodore Ashutosh Ridhorkar, VSM, Naval Component Commander. The Myanmar ships along with Indian Naval Ship Saryu and Maritime Patrol Aircraft from both the navies will participate in the Coordinated Patrol (CORPAT), in Indian Ocean Region. 

Both the Navies have been participating in the Coordinated Patrol (CORPAT) since 2013, for addressing issues of terrorism, illegal fishing, drug trafficking, human trafficking, poaching and other illegal activities inimical to the interest of both nations. The closing ceremony is scheduled in Yangon, Myanmar on 27th May 2019.
