Port Blair, July 15: Fireman (PC) K.P. Mammu of A&N Police Fire Service remained an unstoppable athlete, clinching three (3) Gold Medals in men’s 100 mtr 200 mtr sprint and Long Jump in “Asian Masters Athletics Meet-2019 ” at Colombo (Srilanka) held from 13th to 14th July, 2019.  The 45 year old K.P. Mammu created a newtournament record in men’s 200 mtr sprint and Long Jump.  The great feat was achieved when he clocked 23.5 seconds in 200 mtr sprint and cleared 5.85 mtr in Long Jump while he clocked 12.0 seconds in 100 mtr sprint on his way to winning Gold Medals.   Last year Fireman (PC) KP Mammu bagged Gold Medal in 200 mtr sprint in the 1st “National Fire Service Games & Fire Service Meet” organized by Director General Fire Service Civil Defence& Home Guard, MHA, Govt. of India held from 2nd to 4th February, 2018 at Nagpur.  In a highly competitive event having more than 200 participants, he clinched the Gold Medals through his sheer determination and regular practice.  A&N Police congratulate him on his achievement and for bringing laurels to A & N Islands and inspiring young talents in the Islands.
