Port Blair, Aug 18: The girl students of Bhandari Education Society Junior College, Malvan, Maharashtra have sent handmade ‘Rakhis’ as a mark of their love and affection for the personnel of Defence Forces serving in remote areas including Andaman and Nicobar Command. The students have also sent poetries written by them praising the bravery of Indian soldiers. 

The Rakhis were tied on the wrists of the soldiers of the Andaman Nicobar Command on behalf of the students in a solemn ceremony held on 15th of August 2019. The students have also sent an emotional message and poems conveying their gratitude to their ‘brothers’ who “perform the sacred duty of serving the nation by protecting its borders and keeping their ‘sisters’ secure inspite of not being related by blood”.
