Port Blair, Aug 25: Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, Port Blair has been implementing Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme-Phase-III (TEQIP-III) Project of MHRD, Govt. of India, assisted by the World Bank. Under the project BRAIT has signed a Twinning Agreement with NIT Trichy.

As part of this, with the support and guidance of A&N Administration, a Video Conferencing (VC) network has been established between BRAIT and NIT Trichy. This landmark achievement will enable an ecosystem for sharing and exchange of knowledge and information between students and faculties of BRAIT and the institutes of National Importance. The Professors of NIT Trichy will conduct classes on the emerging topics for students of BRAIT through VC on regular basis. As a launch activity, the Students Council of BRAIT interacted with the Students Council of NIT Trichy on issues like placement, formation of hobby clubs, organizing TECH Fest, workshops etc. Dr S. Jerome, Dean (Students Welfare Association), NITT congratulated the BRAIT Students for their commendable efforts in implementing outstanding projects inspite of limited resources. This VC facility will go a long way to improve quality of technical education for the students of these remote islands.
