Port Blair, Aug 25: As part of International Literacy Day celebration, the Adult Education Cell, Shiksha Sadan will be organizing various competitions like painting, essay writing and elocution. Accordingly, the painting competition will be organized on Aug 26 at 10 am at Shiksha Sadan. The topic for senior group (Class IX-XII) will be ‘Literacy is social and human development’ while for junior group (Class VI-VIII), the topic will be ‘illiteracy is darkness for society’. Schools can send two students in each group to participate in the competition. They should report to Shri Shailender Lall, Senior Investigator (AE), Adult Education Cell, Shiksha Sadan. Only drawing sheet will be supplied.

The essay competition will be held on Aug 28 at 10 am at Shiksha Sadan. The topic for senior group class IX-XII is ‘Literacy – foundation of success’, while for junior group (VI to VIII) it will be ‘Literacy is the best remedy’. 

Similarly, the elocution competition will be held on Sept 2 at 11.30 am. The topic for senior group class (IX-XII) will be ‘How to eliminating illiteracy’. Schools can sent two students for both Essay and elocution competition and have been requested to report to Shri Alexander Lakra, LGC, Adult Education Cell, ShikshaSadan.
