Port Blair, Sept 9: Department of Labour, Employment & Training conducted an awareness campaign for targeted beneficiaries and PRIs on following important schemes:-

1. Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana (PMSYM) - a minimum assured monthly pension scheme of Rs.3000/- after the age of 60 years for the unorganized workers with minor contribution and equal share by Central Government. The enrollment age criteria are between 18 to 40 years. CSC is the contact point for registration.

2. Pradhan Mantri Laghu Vyapari Maandhan Yojana (PMLVMY) - a minimum assured monthly pension of Rs.3000/- for small traders on attaining the age of 60 years. The enrollment age criteria are between 18 to 40 years. The CSC is the contact point for registration.

3. Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) - Providing of Employment skills training under potential employment modules.

4. National Career Service Scheme (NCS) - a common electronic platform for jobseekers and employers to access vacancies  available at state, national  and  overseas level, uploading vacancies in the portal and to access other details like career counseling, training providers, placement agencies, apprenticeship training etc. were conducted on 06/09/2019 at Shaheed Dweep at 6.00 p.m. in the Panchayat hall and on 07/09/2019 at Swaraj Dweep in the Panchayat Hall at 4.30 pm.

Shri Madhu Sudhan Baidya, Labour Commissioner & DET, CH Venketeswar Rao, Principal ITI and Smti Binu K, Asst. Employment Officer spoke on the features of schemes, registration mechanism/ enrollment details and employment skills training. He appealed to all who were present to get themselves registered and avail the benefits under the various schemes. Literatures and Pamphlets regarding the scheme were distributed among the beneficiaries. The LC&DET requested to all PRIs to help those to join by extending all support at their level. Shri K.S. Rao, Asst. Labour Commissioner extended vote of thanks to all participants. 

The Pramukh, Pradhan, PRI members and Zilla Parishad members were also present and spoke on the occasion and appreciated the efforts of the Department for organizing such awareness campaign for the betterment of weaker section.
