Andamans No Less than Maldives, Bali and Other Such Places:  Ratan Pratap

Port Blair, Sept. 16: Television anchor and international host Ratan Pratap is currently visiting Andaman and Nicobar Islands for a project. Speaking exclusively to the Andaman Chronicles Ratan said, “This is my first time in Andaman and Nicobar islands. I am really excited to be here. The place is so beautiful. We always plan our vacations to Maldives, Bali, etc. But to be honest, there is no need to go anywhere else! I am so at peace after coming to the islands. I really hope that I go around the place and explore everything that Andaman has to offer”.

Ratan recently received the ‘Best Celebrity Anchor’ award at Starlite Excellence Awards. When asked about his feelings regarding the same he said, “It’s an honour even to be nominated in this category. Winning the award is a completely different feeling altogether. There are very few award shows in India that have the category of Best Anchor and I am thankful to organisers and jury of this award show for recognizing and felicitating my work. It only motivates to work harder and entertain the audiences better”.

The young star says that he does not like to be called a ‘celebrity’. “I am an artist who is simply trying to entertain the audiences to the best of my abilities. Words like celebrity create a divide between you and the audience and I don’t want that,” he added.

Asked if he had a message for today’s youth, he said: “I strongly encourage everybody to pursue their interests and things that they are passionate about. There will be people to pull you down. Sometimes your own friends and family might not understand your dreams. But you need to believe in yourself. Whatever field it may be, if you work hard and have what it takes, success is bound to follow. All you need is a perseverance and patience.”
