I have come across a lot of people with the belief that there are no options for a groom apart from traditional sherwanis and formal suit. This is just a myth and we all need to get over it.

Now-a-days guys have more options than girls.

Before purchasing any dress for yourself you should keep one thing in mind. Please do not compare yourself with others. Try your favourite outfit and make sure you take opinions from one or two family members and then finalise.

Here are few options for the groom and best man.

Basic, simple kurta for small functions like Roka, Sangeet, Haldi etc.

Ethnic half jacket over the kurta (Long kurta). A Kurta with half sleeved Nehru jacket. A full sleeved jacket with knee length or short kurta. A jodhuri jacket. A plain beige sherwani with chudidaar. Black sherwani with metal buttons and a dupata with thick embroidered borders.

Reverse this completely to a new look with embroidered Sherwani and plain dupata with borders. Sherwani with sequence hand work all over. You can go for colours like red, yellow light blue.

For the reception you can always go for a black tuxedo.

Double breasted suit (preferably a pin stripped). A plain Nehru suit.  Plain bandh gala with jodhpuri pants. Pin stripe or solid blazer set with white or light blue shirt to keep it to the basic.

In case you choose to go for a tie, it has to be silk or silk like material and should coordinate with the blazer and pants and should contrast the shirt’s colour.

I hope these little tricks and tips will help you get your perfect wedding look.
