Arrests Three Persons With 100% Recovery of Stolen Items

Port Blair, Oct. 13: On 07/10/2019, a written complaint was received at PS Aberdeen from Shri S. Suparnan, Technician (General), Directorate of Lighthouse and Lightships, Port Blair regarding theft of Mercury weighing about 74 Kgs, which was kept in the workshop store by some unknown person.

Upon this, a case was registered at PS Aberdeen under the relevant sections of IPC and immediately a special team led by SI Jeevan, HC Sunil Singh, PCs Suresh Kumar & Vinod Linya was constituted under Inspector Sanjay Kumar, SHO PS Aberdeen. The team gathered intelligence about the accused persons and apprehended them after continuous search operation. During  interrogation, the accused persons namely Birsa Katchap S/o Late Munda Katchap, 46 yrs R/o  Junglighat, Kuldeep Soreng S/o Shri. Cornallius Soreng, 41 yrs R/o Dairy Farm & Tarak Dutta S/o Late. Birendranath Dutta, 58 yrs R/o VIP Road confessed their guilt and the entire stolen properties were recovered from their possessions.

The entire operation took place under Ms. Sandhya Swamy, IPS, SDPO, South Andaman and under the overall direction and supervision of Shri. Manoj C., IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District. The general public is requested to share information pertaining to any crime or other illegal activities to Police at 112, 03192-232100 & 03192-233077. The identity of the informant will be kept secret.
