Port Blair, Oct. 21: In the recent election of Students Council of Jawahar Lal Nehru Rajakiya Mahavidyalaya held on 15th Oct 2019, Shri V Maheshwaran (NSUI) was elected as President of students' Council, while Ms Anshika Mandal, Shri G Nilesh, Shri Shiva, Ms Manisha Kumari, Shri J Pradeep, Shri Rahul Kumar Yadav and Ms Aishwarya V Nair were elected as Vice-President, General Secretary, Joint Secretary (Cultural) and Joint Secretary (Editorial) respectively.
These elected office bearers of the Students Council called on the President, Pradesh Congress Committee Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma on 17th October 2019 at Gandhi Bhaban and joined National Students Union of India, a frontal organization of Indian National Congress and recorded their faith in the leadership of AICC President Smti Sonia Gandhi and Shri Sharma.
Shri Sharma has congratulated all the office bearers and other students of JNRM who were present in this meeting and inspired them to be always fair in all respect to all the students of the College. He called upon the students to give special attention and priorities towards their studies and acquire proper knowledge in their respective fields of studies and make the islands proud of them. He also advised them to always be away from social evils, drug abuses and inspire others also to away from these evil effects. Shri Sharma has assured them of all possible helps to the students of the College.
