Port Blair, Oct. 21: Member of Parliament Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma met the Chief of Army Staff General Bipin Rawat in Delhi on 18th October 2019 and requested him to recruit more number of local unemployed youth of Andaman & Nicobar Islands in Territorial Army. He discussed about the prevailing unemployment issue in Andaman & Nicobar Islands due to introduction of online recruitment process.
He also demanded that adequate land should be provided by the Army to build a centre for training & development of National Cadet Corps in Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The MP also committed to contribute funds from MPLADS for this purpose. This will give impetus and motivate the local youth to join National Cadet Corps and contribute towards national building and fight against social evils.
The Army Chief assured of cooperation & stated that he will look into the matter.
