Port Blair, Oct. 21: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma on his recent visit to Campbell Bay on 14th and 15th October 2019 was shocked to learn from the parents, social workers and PRI Members of Campbell Bay that the teachers of following discipline at the following schools are yet to be posted. The current academic session has been started functioning since 1st July, 2019 and now it has passed more than 3 ½ moths. The discipline includes:

1.    PGT (Biology) and GTT (Maths) in Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Campbell Bay.

2.    PGT (Maths) & PGT (Arts) in Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Vijaynagar, Campbell Bay.

3.    PGT (Science), PGT (Maths) and Physical Education Teacher in Govt. Sr. Secondary School, Gandhinagar, Campbell Bay.

Considering the serious concerns raised for the welfare of the students, the Member of Parliament has informed the Secretary Education that due to non availability of teachers in the above schools, the education of the children in the respective subjects are affected badly since the Board Examination for 10th and 12th lass is scheduled to be held in the month of February & March 2020 respectively.

The MP has also kept the officials informed that similar problems of shortage of teachers in various schools across A&N Islands are also exists. He stated that if immediate steps to fill up all the vacant posts are not taken by way of immediate posting of respective teachers, the future carrier of the children will be adversely affected as 03 months have already passed from the commencement of the current academic session.

The MP also appreciated the effort of a Veterinary Doctor who is taking the science classes in the Schools at Campbell Bay. 

The Member of Parliament has thus requested the Secretary Education of the A&N Administration for early filling of all the vacant posts of Teachers at Campbell Bay and other schools across A&N Islands at the earliest possible in the interest of the children’s education and their future carrier.
