Port Blair, Nov. 11: A Hackathon was organized by Andaman Nicobar Police in collaboration with Dr. B R Ambedkar Institute of Technology to develop an IT based application e-Malkhanafor managing Malkhana in Police Station the Hackathon concluded in a simple function held today at Auditorium, DBRAIT, Pahargaon with distribution of cash prizes to the winning teams by the chief guest Shri. Madhup Tewari, IPS, Inspector General (Law & Order), A&N Islands. A total of 7 teams had participated in the competition which began yesterday. The first prize was awarded to Shri, K. Vinoy Raj, Shri. Souvik Barua and Akshay Pandey of ‘Team Techies’, Shri. Aditiya Raj Singh, Shri. Dinesh Lal and M. Vinod of Team Black Ops clinched the 2nd position followed by Shri. Pawan S. Nair and Shri. Amit Roy of Team Aspire who clinched the 3rd position.

During the function Shri. Jatin Narwal, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Principal, DBRAIT, Shri. Utpal Sharma, other senior officer of A&N Police and faculty members of DBRAIT were also present to grace the occasion,

Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest Shri. Madhup Tewari admired the efforts of all participants for enthusiastically participating and sharing their project ideas and developing the application. He said that the applications developed by the participants shall be deployed as a pilot project for viability, to work out the issues related to Malkhana management in Police Stations. He further said that hackathon will be organized in future as well as an effort to make new young talent come up with their new innovative ideas and projects for helping in transforming the nation into Digital India. 

The function concluded with vote of thanks delivered by the coordinator of programme Dr. Shravani Mallick, Prof. DBRAIT, Pahargaon.
