Port Blair, Nov. 13: A mesmerizing cultural programme, on the occasion of Passing Out of 72nd Batch of Police Constables,was presented by the trainees of Police Training School and Police Education and Entertainment Teamon 12th November, 2019 at Police Lines which was followed by Badakhana (group dining by all ranks of Police). Shri Dependra Pathak, IPS, Director General of Police, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Shri Madhup Kr. Tewari, IPS, Inspector General of Police (Law &Order) and Shri Sanjay Kumar, IPS, Inspector General of Police (Headquarter) were the Guest of Honour.  Shri Vijay Singh, IPS, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Superintendents of Police, Deputy Superintendents of Police,newly passed out Probationer Sub-Inspectors of A&N Police from Punjab Police Academy, Phillaur, Recruit Constables, police personnel from various units(including staff of Police Training School)also attended the programme.

At the outset, Smt. Usha Rangnani, IPS, Principal, Police Training School welcomed the gathering and congratulated the newly passed out recruits for becoming the regular members of Andaman & Nicobar Police.The Recruits and Police  Entertainment Team enthralled the audience with their exceptional performances, showcasing their talents in different fields like dance, singing, skit & plays. The Police Bands also played melodious tunes to everyone’s delight &added to the joy for all during the evening.

During the programme, new logo of Police Training School was also unveiled by the Director General of Police, A&N Islands, signifying the importance, sanctity and distinct identity of Police Training School. The slogan, “Gyanev Shakti” i.e. “Knowledge is Power”, which was given by Inspector General of Police (Law &Order)was also adopted as the slogan for Police Training School.

Addressing the gathering, the Director General of Police, Andaman &Nicobar Islands welcomed the newly passed out recruits Police Constables and probationer Sub-Inspectors to thefamily of Andaman &Nicobar Police and encourage them for rendering dedicated service to the society with utmost sincerity and sense of responsibility. He congratulated the recruits and all participants for their excellent performance in the cultural programme and further, motivated everyone to discharge their duties with dedication and commitment, so as to provide safe and secure environment to the people of these Islands and also to uphold the name of A&N Police to glorious heights. 

The programme ended with the vote of thanks by Vice Principal, PTS, Shri Michael Raj. The entire event of cultural programme and Bada Khana was held under the close supervision of Principal, PTS, Smt. Usha Rangnani, IPS assisted by Shri Naveen Kumar, Assistant Commandant, IRBn and Shri Manoj Kumar Meena, Vice Principal (Outdoor).
