Port Blair, Nov. 20: The ninth discussion of Andaman and Nicobar Police Study Circle was held on 20/11/2019 in the Conference Hall of Police Headquarters. Shri. Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar, IPS, Director General, Central Reserve Police Force(CRPF) was the chief guest and key note speaker on the occasion. Shri. DependraPathak, IPS, Director General of Police, A&N Islands alongwith Shri. Madhup K Tewari, IPS, IGP (L&O), Shri. Sanjay Kumar, IPS, IGP (HQ/ACU), and other senior officers of A&N Police were present during the discussion. At the outset, Director General of Police, A & N Islands, Shri. Dependra Pathak, IPS gave an overview of A&N Police, its capabilities, new initiatives and best practices being followed by A&N Police. He also explained the current, as well as emerging and future challenges, roles and responsibilities of the  A&N Police.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri. Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar, IPS, DG CRPF shared his vast experience and stressed on enhancing the response mechanism involved in general policing. He also emphasized on the need for synergy between various stakeholders and the need for a constant vigil in the prevailing security scenario along with its ramifications on the Island territory. 

The Chief Guest also highlighted about the advancements and latest technologies being used by CRPF and also appraised the study circle about various facets of CRPF. The chief guest also discussed the prevailing internal security scenario in the country and how the Central Armed Police Forces in general (CAP) and the Central Reserve Police Force(CRPF) in specific are dealing with the same. He spoke of the valor and bravery of the CRPF personnel and how they are performing duties in extremely difficult, vast and different terrains. He promised all help and support from CRPF to A&N Police in developing its capabilities and ensuring safety and security of the Islands.  The program ended with interactive questing and answer session covering the discussion in detail.
