Port Blair, Dec. 6: An 18 Member Rowing Team sponsored by the Andaman and Nicobar Rowing Association with the assistance of the Andaman and Nicobar State Sports Council is presently participating in the 38th Senior National Rowing Championship-2019 at Hussain Sagar Lake, Hyderabad. The Championship started from 2nd December and will end on 7th December, 2019.
The Rowing Championship is organized by the Telengana Rowing Association on behalf of the Rowing Federation of India. In the fifth day of the Rowing Championship held today Miss B.Anandi and Miss Amrita of the Andaman and Nicobar Rowing Team won Bronze Medal in 2 x 2000 metre race in Women Pairs bringing laurel to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It may be recalled that Andaman and Nicobar Islands is getting a Medal after four years in Senior National Rowing Championship.
The A&N Rowing Association has conveyed its thanks to the Secretary (Sports), Joint Secretary, A&N Sports Council, In charge Sports Authority of India, Port Blair and all other officials of the A&N Sports Council for extending their whole hearted cooperation and support in sending the rowing team to Hyderabad by timely extending financial assistance and other help to the rowing team.
