Port Blair, Jan 14: The Police Training School, Prothrapur, A&N Islands organized 03 (three) days course on “use of videography/photography in scene of crime during investigation” from 06-01-2020 to 08-01-2020 for in-service Police Personnel of A&N Police from the rank of Head Constable to Inspector under the overall supervision of Smti. Usha Rangnani, IPS, Principal, Police Training School, Prothrapur. The main objective of the course was to enhance the knowledge of the participants regarding standard operating and procedural use of videography/photography in scene of crime during investigation.

During the course, Shri. Michael Raj, DANIPS, Vice Principal, PTS, Shri. Yogesh Kumar, SSO, I/c FSL, Shri Shivender Pratab Singh, Associate Officers, FSL., Shri Pankaj Kumar Patil, Associate Officers, FSL., SI T.K. William, I/c Photography Section, CID Unit, Shri. Bharat Kumar Jhapte, Associate Officers, FSL., SI Abdul Sajid, I/c DM Cell (DHQ) delivered informative lectures on various topics like General Photographic Guidelines/methods, evidence photography of various types, forensic photography of Crime Scene, process of videography in scene of crime, Instructions for videography in sensitive cases, role of CCTV footage in scene of crime & how to retrieve CCTV video footage, Simulation Exercises on photography in indoor and outdoor crime cases.

Altogether, 18 Police Personnel of various Police Stations/ Units of A&N Police participated in the course. Shri. Michael Raj, DANIPS Vice Principal, PTS, concluded the course by emphasizing on the objectives of the course and its implementation. The course was coordinated by Inspr. Girish Kumar, CLI (PTS), Prothrapur.
