Port Blair, Feb 18: Campus Bird Count is as an international event coordinated by Andaman Avians Club in Andaman Islands. Every year a bird count is being done in few selected campuses of the Islands to estimate the bird abundance in the campus and to introduce more and more people to the hobby of birding and to spread awareness among the islanders.

This year Campuses covered are: ICAR- CIARI, Bhatubasti, IRBN Port Mount, Pondichery University Brooksabad, MGIS Brooksabad, JNRM, DBRAIT, Govt. Secondary School, Parnashallah. 

During the event more than 50 new members from the campuses participated to make the event a great success. A total of 1500 birds of 80 different species were recorded during the 4 day event. The Asian Emerald Cuckoo a rare winter visitor was also recorded during the CBC 2020.
