Port Blair, March 30: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Lt Governor for providing financial relief to the tribal people in view of the lockdown imposed in the Islands. The lockdown has badly hit the tribal people who are now suffering from financial losses. The MP requested to consider providing financial relief of Rs 3000/- to every tribal household residing in Hutbay, Car Nicobar, Nancowry group of Islands and Great Nicobar islands through the respective Tribal Council under the supervision of the Administration.

The MP has also requested the Chief Secretary to release balance 80% of payment to the workers of MNREGA workers, opening of Guest houses of KK Nagar and Anna Nagar for the Students and other islanders stranded at Chennai and also allow the vacant rooms of Salt Lake Guest house at Kolkata to the stranded islanders at Kolkata, arrange special cargo boat to Shaheed Dweep to bring about 4 tonnes of Vegetables available there at Port Blair Market, opening of shops selling pet foods for the pets throughout the islands, issuing of Kerosene through FPS allover islands since consumers of LPG are not getting cylinders. 

The MP has also requested to the Director, Civil Supply and Consumers Affairs to provide ration materials to remote villages of Miletilak and Jirkatang immediately.
