Port Blair, Aug. 19: On the recommendation of National Diary Development Board (NDDB) to develop Neil Island as a model diary business centre, a demonstration of milk analyzer was arranged on 16th August 2016 which was attended by Shri Ram Krishna Biswas, Pradhan, Neil Island and other 40 farmers supplying milk to ANIIDCO. The farmers were educated on importance of supplying unadulterated milk and operational modalities of the machine. Installation of milk analyzer will bring transparency and fairness in procurement of milk from the farmers. The machine can detect harmful adulterants like urea, salt and other parameters. The testing of milk will also help farmers to know the Fat and Solid Not Fat (SNF) percentage of the milk and take corrective action by giving proper feed, fodder and taking other diary management practices to improve the quality of milk. The Corporation also plans to install milk analyzer in all other parts of the Islands from where milk is collected from the farmers to ensure supply of quality milk to its consumers.

Shri Ram Krishna Biswas, Pradhan, Neil Island and the farmers welcomed the decision of ANIIDCO for installation of milk analyzer.
