Port Blair, Oct. 28: Butterflies in collaboration with CIAI, Italy launched its 11th branch of Children’s Development Khazana (CDK) on 24th October at Attam Pahard, South Andaman. The CDK was launched by Shri. Ajay, DySP, South Andaman. 

Child Development Khazana was conceptualized and initiated by Butterflies in the year of 2001 in Delhi, with the vision of Economic Empowerment and personal Development of the poor and marginalized children/adolescence. Presently this programme spanned over to 8 countries and having total 155 branches. This programme was initiated in Andaman since 2013 and presently having 700 child account holders.

During the occasion Mr. Matteo Levi, Country representative of CIAI and Mr. Sino P Kurian, Programme manager, Butterflies handed over the CDK documents and name board of new Branch to Child volunteer mangers and interacted with children and parents.  

At the outset, Ms. Ganga Bavani, Focal Person of CDK, highlighted the concept and objectives of Child Development Khazana. Speaking on the occasion Mr. Sino P Kurian, Programme Manager motivated the children to develop the habit of saving to meet better health and education needs.  Shri. D Roy, Director, ICAR, Sub Inspectors Ms. Agnes and Jyothi also graced the occasion.
