LG distributes health, nutrition & hygienic  kits amongst girls at Car Nicobar

Car Nicobar, Oct. 28:  The Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), Tribal Project, Car Nicobar organized an awareness programme on Health, Nutrition & Hygiene in coordination with Education Department & BJR Hospital, Car Nicobar at Community Hall, Kinyuka, Car Nicobar yesterday under ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ scheme.

The Lt. Governor, A&N Islands, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, was the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, the Lt. Governor appreciated the efforts taken by the District Administration regarding the programme ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’. He urged the girl students to adopt balanced diet and maintain health & hygiene. He also distributed health, nutrition & hygienic kits amongst the girl students.

The Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District, Superintendent of Police, Nicobar District, Assistant Commissioner, Car Nicobar, Secretary, Tribal Council, Village Headmen, all heads of the Departments and 80 girls students from GSSS Malacca and GSS Tamaloo, Car Nicobar attended the programme. 

The function concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Smt. Neha Bansal, DC, Nicobar District. Students were enlightened on various topic viz. health, nutrition & hygiene by Dr. Hemawati and Dr. Varsha Raman of BJR Hospital. Earlier, Smt. Indira Devi, CDPO, Car Nicobar welcomed the chief guest and highlighted the importance of ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ Scheme.
