Port Blair, Dec. 6: Shri. Vishal Jolly, National Executive Member-BJP held a meeting at Transport Bhawan, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, New Delhi with Shri. T. K. Baidya, Director- NHIDCL, Shri. Ashish Gupta, DGM- NHIDCL and Shri. Amul, the Concerned officer of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways having responsibility of looking after the issues pertaining to NHIDCL, at New Delhi.

Port Blair, Dec. 6: On 04/12/2023, Director General of Police of A&N Police, Sh. Devesh Chandra Srivastva, IPS, paid a visit to the A&N Police Dog Squad Unit in Austinabad. Upon the DGP's arrival, the Police Canines (K9s) presented a Guard of Honour. Subsequently, a demonstration was presented by the Police K9s, simulating a building collapse scenario to showcase their search and rescue capabilities. The K9s also exhibited their physical and mental efficiency by engaging in various obstacle and agility exercises.

Port Blair, Dec. 6: In a significant development, Police team of PS Ograbraj consisting ASI Ranjit Kumar Baroi, PC/1047 Jayanta Kumar Biswas, PC/1438 R Cepas and PC (D)/3059 Mohammed Sameer working under the direction of SI Devanand Pathak, SHO PS Ograbraj, while at traffic checking at Manpur intercepted one Omni with 2 persons carrying approximately 3.855 Kgs meat of Andaman Water Monitor Lizard (Varanus salvator andamanensis) an endangered species enlisted in Schedule I of Wildlife Protection Act 1972. The meat and the involved vehicles was seized from the spot and the offenders were apprehended.

Port Blair, Dec. 6: It is a proud moment for A&N Islands, as for the 1st time, the Para - Athletics team of A&N Islands will be participating in the Khelo India Para Games - 2023 to be held from Dec.10 to 17, 2023 in 7 Sports Disciplines at New Delhi. 

Port Blair, Dec. 6: The Flag Day is commemorated on Dec.7 every year in India. This year too, it will be celebrated on Dec.7. The day is observed to salute the gallant soldiers, honour the braves, express solidarity and support for welfare of ex-servicemen & their dependents. The Day is intended to honour the valiant and dead, to salute the veterans and brave and to enhance the traditional bonds that exist between citizens of the country and the Armed Forces. On this day, the services rendered by personnel of Army, Navy and Air Force are remembered. Rajya/Zila Sainik Boards observe this day to enlist public co-operation and support for three basic purposes –Rehabilitation of families of battle casualties; Welfare of serving personnel and their families and Re-settlement and welfare of ex-Servicemen and their families in general.
