Port Blair, Nov. 21: The District Child Protection Unit under District Administration, South Andaman organized various program for the children residing at various Child Care Institute of South Andaman during the month of November. The Celebration commenced with the screening of movie for the children on 09th November 2023 in collaboration with Management of Diviyam Theatre, Prothrapur wherein the children enjoyed inspirational movie.

Port Blair, Nov. 21: The Cargo Vessel MV Chuglam will sail for Car Nicobar on Nov. 23, 2023 at 1600 hrs from Chatham Jetty and will sail back to Port Blair immediately after discharging/loading of Cargo at Car Nicobar.    Further, the vessel MV Chuglam will sail for Campbell Bay via Little Andaman, Car Nicobar, Chowra, Teressa, Katchal & Nancowry on Nov.30, 2023 at 0900 hrs from Haddo / Chatham Wharf and will sail back to Port Blair immediately after discharging/loading of Cargo at respective ports. Booking of cargo for the above sailings will commence from Nov.22 onwards between 0900 hrs & 1300 hrs at Commercial Wing.

Port Blair, Nov. 20: The Member of Parliament, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma today laid the foundation stone for the Construction of CC Footpath with both side drain for a length of 43 mtr with 03 mtr width at Birsa Nagar Attam Pahad, Ward Number 18, Port Blair.

The work under MPLADS funds was sanctioned by the Member of Parliament following demand raised by people of the area.

DC (SA) flags off IEC Van as part of ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ in South Andaman District

Port Blair, Nov. 20: The Govt. of India is committed to ensure that benefits of flagship schemes reach the targeted beneficiaries in a time bound manner. With this aim, a nationwide campaign to raise awareness through outreach activities to achieve saturation of schemes named ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ is planned. The Yatra was launched on 15th Nov., 2023 on the occasion of Janjatiya Gaurav Divas by flagging off IEC Vans. On the same line, the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra started in A&N Islands by the Hon’ble Lt Governor on 15th Nov., 2023 from Campbell Bay Block of Nicobar District.

Port Blair, Nov. 20: The Zilla Parishad South Andaman Office, Port Blair has been renamed as Atal Bhawan today to pay homage to the former Prime Minister of India, Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Upon the renaming of Zilla Parishad Office, the entire team of Atal Foundation, A&N Islands comprising of the State President Atal Foundation, Shri Aziz Ur Rehman and the Vice Presidents have expressed their happiness by felicitating Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh, Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad South Andaman and Up-Adhyaksh, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman. The decision to rename the ZPSA Office as Atal Bhawan was made on November 16, 2023 during a house meeting.
