Port Blair, Dec. 10: The Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee on the 09th of December 2023 came together to celebrate the 77th Birthday of the Former Congress President, Smt. Sonia Gandhi at Congress Office, Port Blair.
The event commenced with the ceremonial cake cutting for celebrating the birthday of Smt. Sonia Gandhi who served the Congress Party fearlessly over the years. Following the cake cutting, sweets were distributed among the attendees, echoing the sweetness of the collective commitment to the values and principles that the Congress party stands for.

Port Blair, Dec. 9: The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India, New Delhi has deputed Ophthalmologists from VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi to Port Blair, A&N Islands from 2nd January, 2024 for 45 days to clear the backlog of cataract surgeries and to provide eye OPD services at G. B. Pant Hospital / ANIIMS.

Port Blair, Dec. 10: The Member of Parliament, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma today laid the foundation stone for installation of LED Flood Lights at Namunaghar for development of Sports and Games Activities youths and also to promote Arts and Cultural Activities.
The work has been sanctioned under MPLAD funds, with an estimated cost of Rs.9,45,745 has been sanctioned by the Member of Parliament following demands raised by the residents, especially youths of the area.

Port Blair, Dec. 10: In continuation to the arrest made in 7.246 kgs of Ganja seized on 04/12/2023, PS Central Crime Station arrested one more accused person namely Indrajit Mondal R/o Diglipur on 08/12/2023 under NDPS Act 1985 after getting sufficient evidence who is the part of this drug racket. Indrajit Mondal is found to be actively involved in financing and distribution of contraband. His Police Custody remand has been obtained for sustained interrogation to unearth involvement of other persons.

Port Blair, Dec. 10: The Department of Labour, A & N Administration, in line with the Ease of Doing Business & Digital India initiatives, has introduced an Online Fee Payment System for obtaining Certificate of New Registration/Renewal for all Shops & Establishments under the A & N Islands Shops & Establishment Regulations, 2004 for the establishments located in South Andaman and N & M Districts. The status of the application can be viewed on the Department’s website: https://labour.and.nic.in/labour/. Upon approval, entrepreneurs can conveniently make online fee payments and download the Certificate without visiting the Office. The steps are outlined below.
