Port Blair, Dec. 1: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has demanded for extension of the last date for original certificate verification for candidates who have successfully qualified in various examinations across different departments.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, the Member of Parliament highlighted the stipulated deadline for certificate verification is set for December 2, 2023.

Port Blair, Dec. 1: In a decisive operation conducted on November 28, 2023, a dedicated team from PS Pahargaon, led by Inspector Mariam, successfully intercepted and seized a Wooden Engine Dinghy named "BEDFULLY" bearing registration number IND AN SA. MO. No. /2210 at Attam Pahad Kilan.

During the raid, the police team d iscovered a significant quantity of Padauk wood on board the dinghy, including 58 pieces of Padauk wood planks (size: 72 x 2.5 x 200CM), 04 pieces of Padauk wood planks (size: 72 x 2.5 x 100CM), and 58 pieces of Padauk wood beams (size: 16 x 10 x 220 CM). The vessel also contained two individuals, identified as C.H. Prabhas (33 yrs) and Dinesh Tirkey (35 yrs), both unable to produce any documents verifying the legal purchase or transportation of the recovered Padauk wood.

Port Blair, Dec. 1: The Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC) President, Shri. Rangalal Halder addressed a letter to the Chief Secretary, A & N Administration urging a reconsideration in the number of vacancies published for the Post Graduate Teacher (Bengali) position in the Education Department.

In his letter, Halder highlighted a significant disparity between the total vacancies recently published for PGT (Bengali). He said that the comprehensive report prepared by the education department indicates 09 vacancies of the PGT (Bengali) but it has officially mentioned only 01 vacancy for recruitment.

Port Blair, Dec. 1: A three-day training program for Medical Officers (Allopathy) was organised from 29th November to 1st December, 2023 at AYUSH Hospital, Port Blair. The training focused on enhancing the participants' knowledge and skills in the diagnosis and management of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs).

More than 20 Medical Officers from various health institutions across the UT actively participated in this enriching initiative, reaffirming their commitment to improving healthcare outcomes.

Port Blair, Dec. 1: A&N Administration had released a Press Release in the Daily Telegrams dated 22.11.2023 onwards regarding verification of documents/testimonials and to attend the Trade/Skill Tests for the vacancies for which the Written Examination was held on 09.07.2023 for the Common Category of Group C Matric Level posts of different departments under the A&N Administration.
