Car Nicobar, Oct. 22: In a poignant ceremony organised on Oct. 21, the Superintendent of Police joined by personnel from various units of the Police Department, Fire Brigade, Police Radio and retired police officials came together to pay homage to the brave martyrs of the Police force on Police Commemoration Day.

Diglipur, Oct. 22: Continuing zero tolerance against the illegal trade of narcotic drugs/substances in North & Middle Andaman District, the team of Police Station Kalighat seized 85 grams and arrested of one accused. 

On 21/10/2023, acting on a credible information, the Police team comprising SI Shilpi Singha, SHO, PS Kalighat, HCs Ashok Sammadar & Sumangala and PCs Ranjit Biswas, Sushil Sarkar, Melody Arthur, Niti Singh & HC (Driver) N. Rupesh Kumar conducted raid at Kishori Nagar area under the presence and close supervision of Shri Brij Mohan Meena, DANIPS, SDPO Diglipur and found 85 grams of ganja from the residence of the accused, which have been seized following the codal formalities of NDPS Act. Consequently, the accused namely Lila Debi W/o Late Kannai Dutta, 46 yrs R/o Kishori Nagar was booked under the relevant section of NDPS Act.

Port Blair, Oct. 22: On October 21, 2023, the CID Unit, A&N Police organized a Blood Donation camp at Crime Against Women Cell (CAW Cell) premises in Port Blair to honor the martyrs on Police Commemoration Day in collaboration with the A&N AIDS Control Society of GB Pant Hospital. The primary goal was to replenish local blood supplies and raise awareness about regular blood donation. The event took place from 0900 hrs to 1230 hrs and saw enthusiastic participation of 29 police personnel who donated blood.

Diglipur, Oct. 22: Congress leaders comprising of ANTCC President Shri. Rangalal Halder, Campaign Committee Chairman Shri. TSG Bhasker, Senior Congress leader Shri. Saji Varghese and Congress Leader Shri. Ameer Bux held a meeting with party leaders of Diglipur to review its preparedness for the Lok Sabha election and discussed ways and means to strengthen the organisation in Diglipur.

Kamorta, Oct.21: A demonstration program was organized by the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services in association with ATMA at Kamorta focusing on the preparation of Azolla pits and Azolla cultivation in farmers' fields. Four farmers benefited from this initiative viz. Shri Taufique Ahmed from Kamorta, Smti Inlonti from Pilpillow, Smti Aysha Majid from Kamorta and Shri Frazer James from Kakana. During the programme, these farmers were educated about sustainable farming techniques, highlighting Azolla as a nutrient-rich fodder source. They also learned about its eco-friendly attributes, its effectiveness as a disease controller, and how it can enhance egg production, milk production, and promote livestock growth.
