Port Blair, March 14: The passengers/general public have been informed that, due to administrative reasons, the scheduled sailing programme of the vessel MV Kalighat to Diglipur via Mayabunder on Mar. 16 at 2100 Hrs from Port Blair and her return voyage on Mar. 17 at 1400 Hrs from Diglipur to Port Blair via Mayabunder has been cancelled. Passengers those who have purchased their tickets for the above sailings have been advised to cancel their tickets and get refunded.

Port Blair, March 14: The result for recruitment examination for the post of Industries Promotion Officer of Directorate of Industries, Port Blair which was conducted by DBRAIT in CBT mode on 2nd & 3rd September, 2023 has been received from DBRAIT and has been uploaded in the A&N Administration’s portal http://andaman.gov.in and https://erecruitment.andaman.gov.in for information of all concerned.

Port Blair, March 13: Keeping in mind the upcoming General Election 2024, stringent security measures have been implemented in South Andaman District. One Company of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) has been strategically deployed across various Police Stations in the district. Their primary objective is to uphold law and order by conducting essential activities such as flag marches, area patrolling and establishing checkpoints (Nakas) to ensure anti-social elements don’t influence or adversely affect the upcoming elections.

Port Blair, March 14: The vessel MV Campbell Bay will sail from Port Blair to Vizag on Mar. 16 at 1000 Hrs from Haddo Wharf. Excess baggage will be loaded from 1400 hrs to 1600 hrs on Mar. 15. The excess baggage/cargo needs to be booked in advance at Commercial Wing, DSS. Embarkation of passengers will commence from 0800 hrs on Mar. 16. The embarkation of passengers will be closed one hour before the schedule time. Passengers reporting late will not be allowed to board the vessel.

Port Blair, Mar. 13: The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi today launched the Pradhan Mantri Samajik Utthan evam Rozgar Adharit Jankalyan (PM-SURAJ) national portal and sanctioned credit support to one lakh entrepreneurs of disadvantaged sections of the country. The Prime Minister also addressed the program marking nationwide outreach for credit support to disadvantaged sections and interacted with beneficiaries of various Government schemes via video conferencing today.
