Port Blair, Feb 13: A five days training programme on ‘Office Management including Office Procedure, Noting and Drafting, Record Management & Service Book’, organized by the Administrative Reforms & Training Wing of the Administration in association with the Institute of Secretariat Training & Management (ISTM), Department of Personnel & Training, Govt. of India, New Delhi for the Head Clerks, Higher Grade Clerks and Lower Grade Clerks of Amalgamated Clerical Cadre working in various Department of A&N Administration got underway here yesterday.  

Diglipur, Feb 13: To conquer the menace of illicit ganja at Diglipur, PS Diglipur proved their mettle once again by ongoing tough against the drug peddlers.

On the basis of credible information received that one person namely Mithun Halder has cultivated cannabis plants (Ganja plants) in his residence area at V.S. Pally Diglipur. A raiding team led by Insp. K. Binoj, SHO, PS Diglipur, alongwith police team comprising of SI Abdul Shakil, PCs Abubacker Siddique, Sudhir Toppo, Debsai Toppo, Trilochini Kumari and Mritunjay Das with two independent witness under the supervision of Shri. Brij Mohan Meena, SDPO Diglipur, conducted search outside of his residence and recovered 05 Nos. cannabis plants (Ganja plants) measuring approux 2.1 mtrs were uprooted and, on weighing, it was found a total of 1.570 Kgs. Subsequently Mithun Halder, S/o Late Nalini Halder (34) yrs R/o V.S Pally ward No. 2, Diglipur was arrested and a case has been registered at PS Diglipur under NDPS Act against the accused.

Port Blair, Feb 13: The passengers have been informed that due to administrative reasons, the scheduled sailing programme of the vessel Sindhu on Feb.20, 2024 at 0900 hrs from Port Blair to Campbell Bay via Nancowry and her return voyage on Feb.22, 2024 at 0800 hrs from Campbell Bay to Port Blair via Nancowry has been cancelled. Passengers those who are holding the tickets of Sindhu have been advised to cancel their tickets and get full refund.
