Port Blair, Jan. 23: For the purpose of implementing the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) programme, the Central Team, which included Dr. J. N. Srivastava (Advisor), Dr. Anand Yadav (Consultant), and Dr. Abhay Dahiya (Consultant), visited A&N Islands. They determined where the Health Institutions needed to improve and assured full implementation of NQAS by the year 2026. The Central Team held a meeting with UT officials under the Chairmanship of The Mission Director-UTHM with Director of Health Services, Director (ANIIMS), State Nodal Officer (NQAS) and State Programme Manager– State Health Society where various gaps and challenges faced by the Health Institutions and the action plan for the same were discussed.

Port Blair, Jan 23: On the occasion of 100th Death Anniversary of Lenin, the great leader of Russian Revolution, CPI (M) Andaman and Nicobar State Organising Committee has organized a Seminar on the topic Lenin: Architect of Modern Socialist State at Shaheed Bhavan, Anarkali, Port Blair on 21st January, 2024 evening. 

Banerjee, a senior leader of the CPI (M) was the main speaker who elaborately explained the working class struggle in Russia which led to the Russian revolution in 1917 and ultimate establishment of USSR and the role played by Lenin.

Governor and the cars of other higher officials, holding the ‘P’ (Green & Pink) parking card shall alight at the alighting point on the road inside Marina Park. After dropping the officials/dignitaries at the alighting point the vehicles shall proceed for parking near Swimming Pool by taking the route Girls School Junction - Scout Hut Junction – Netaji Stadium – ‘P’ Parking.

Port Blair, Jan 23: The Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee on the 23rd of January 2024 observed the 127th Birth Anniversary of Subhash Chandra Bose at the Congress Office in Port Blair echoed with remembrance and respect.

At the outset, the ANTCC President Shri. Rangalal Halder, with utmost reverence, garlanded the portrait of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, symbolizing the enduring spirit of the freedom fighter. Following this, the Campaign Committee Chairman, Shri TSG Bhasker, offered a heartfelt floral tribute that symbolizes gratitude for Bose's sacrifices.

Port Blair, Jan. 23: In order to encourage more young voters to take part in the election process, the Election Commission of India has decided to celebrate January 25 every year as ‘National Voters’ Day’. The 14th National Voters’ Day will be celebrated across the country on 25th January, 2024. This year’s theme is ‘Nothing like Voting, I Vote for Sure’.

Meanwhile, as part of pre-NVD activities, various competitions at Schools & College level are being organized, focussing on the theme. A Walkathon from National Memorial Cellular Jail to Flag Point will be organized on 25.01.2024 at 5.30 am for creating awareness among citizens about enrolment and voting.
