Students to Appear in School Based Test Again

Port Blair, May 15: The Central Board of Secondary Education in a recently released notification vide No. CBSE/CE/2020 dated 13.05.2020 has issued a guidelines asking all the schools affiliated to it, to provide an opportunity to all the failed students of Class 9th and 11th to appear in a school-based test again, as a one-time measure in extraordinary situation. This opportunity will be extended to all such students irrespective of whether their examinations have been completed and the exam results have been released or their exams have not been completed.

This facility will be extended irrespective of number of subjects and attempts. CBSE has also asked the schools to decide upon the promotion of such students on the basis of innovative tests which can be conducted online/offline. Such tests can be conducted in all the subjects in which the student has failed and sufficient time is to be provided to the students for preparation.

The notification reads that such an exemption has to be extended to all such students even if they had been provided with such an opportunity earlier to this notification. This will be a one-time opportunity which shall be extended only in current year due to the unprecedented conditions of COVID-19.

While endorsing the notification issued by CBSE, the Principal, State Institute of Education has asked all the Zonal Officers of Educational Zones to comply with these guidelines issued by the CBSE in all the CBSE affiliated schools under their educational zone. It is further informed to the students and general public to avail this one time relief as being extended to the students who could not pass in their Class IX/XI exam during the academic session 2019-2020.
