Port Blair, May 31: Disinfection work of entire buildings / structures, machineries and other equipment including the open premises starting from the Main entrance gate was carried out at Mill Division, Chatham in order to make COVID-19 free atmosphere so as to resume the routine works of various sections.

The entire procedure of disinfection was coordinated by Consultant, Chief Medical Officer (Retired) Dr. R.C Kar and Assistant Labour Welfare Commissioner, Mill Division, Chatham along with other Para medical staffs. The SOPs and protocols of COVID-19 were strictly adhered to while carrying out the disinfection program.

Chemical used for disinfection has due approval and certification of the Nodal officer (Dr. Avijit Roy) COVID-19, A&N Administration. The above Consultant and ALWC, Mill Division, Chatham also made special efforts to create awareness among the employees about menace of COVID-19 and the SOPs to be followed while performing duties inside the Chatham premises.

Earlier, under the guidance of DR. R.C. Kar checking of temperature of every person entering inside the Chatham premises had been started with the help of Thermal Scanner. The entire disinfection program was organized by Shri Deepak Johnson, DCF (MD) to make the Mill operational in a limited pace following the SOPs and protocol.
