Port Blair, June 8: The Traffic Branch of A&N Police organised meetings with the auto rickshaw drivers and private bus drivers and conductors on 01.06.2020 and 06.06.2020 in the conference hall of PS Aberdeen under the chairmanship of Shri. Arjun Prasad, Inspector Traffic and Shri. Ajay Kumar Rai, Dy.SP (Traffic) respectively, by maintaining proper social distancing. Around 50 to 60 Auto/Bus drivers participated in the meetings. During the meetings, they were informed the precautionary measures of COVID-19 to be strictly compiled with respect to Auto Rickshaw/Bus.
Sufficient sanitizers should be provided in the operational buses/auto rickshaw for hand sanitisation of all the passengers at the time of boarding on the bus.
Social distancing should be ensured in the buses as per the norms/guidelines of the MHA/MoH&FW and also ensured that passenger who is without a face mask/cover shouldn’t be allowed to board in the bus/autos.
Regular sanitization of the buses/autos should be carried out by Hypochlorite solution.
Bus Conductors/auto rickshaw drivers should be wear gloves/face mask while plying on the roads.
The passengers boarding the buses/autos should be screened by the conductor by an IR thermometer and suspect/symptomatic cases should be conveyed to the District Admn.
The drivers and conductors were directed not to consume tobacco and alcohol while on duty and also be ensured that passengers also escape from use of pan, gutka and smoke and do not spit on the roads/public spaces/buses while plying.
The owners were directed that they should carry passengers only 50% of the sitting capacity of the bus.
Bus should stop only at designated bus stops and inside marked bus boxes.
