Port Blair, June 19: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Secretary (Education), A&N Administration to consider for release the salary of Guest Faculties of MG Govt. College, Mayabunder for the month of April and May, 2020 as their salary for these two months is not yet paid to them till date.
The MP stated that in terms of A&N Administration Order No. 793 dated 13th March 2020, all the Colleges in the A&N Islands remain closed w.e.f. 16th March, 2020 on account of COVID-19 pandemic and as per Govt. of India, Ministry of Finance OM No.23(4)/E-Coord/2020/1 dated 23.03.2020 endorsed by the A&N Administration vide letter No.70-76/2017-PW (7th CPC) dated 3rd April, 2020, they have been compelled to stay at home during lockdown period and their period of absence shall be treated “On duty”. But their salary for the month of April and May, 2020 has not been paid to them till date, whereas the salary of other faculties of JNRM, ANCOL and TGCE, Law College etc were paid. So the MP requested to consider for release their salary at the earliest as the Guest Faculties are facing great financial constrains due to delay of payment.
