Port Blair, Aug 17: In order to transport Doctors and other health workers from South Andaman to N&M Andaman District, the A&N Administration today arranged a bus at 9.30 am from Port Blair Bus Terminus. As many as 18 Doctors and Health Workers were accommodated in the bus. As per the protocol, all the passengers had to be tested for COVID-19 but this was not done.

Later after the bus covered almost 35 Kilometers to reach Ferrargunj, the COVID-19 test was conducted and two out or the eighteen health workers were tested positive for the virus. When the Administration has all the facilities for rapid test at the starting point, is it advisable to accommodate people and make them travel for around an hour for the test, thus risking the members?
