Port Blair, Sept. 28: On 25/09/2020, Inspr. Mahesh Kr. Yadav, SHO, PS Central Crime Station received a credible information that owner and staff of Lush Green Bar & Restaurant, Wandoor  clandestinely takes the IMFL & beer stock out of Lush Green  Bar in wee hours for selling illegally to customers at  exorbitant price owing to its high demand due to lockdown directives.

Immediately, Inspr. Mahesh Kr. Yadav constituted a decoy team comprising SI Bisavjeet Prasad, ASI Mohd. Rafique, Head Constable Upender Singh and Constable Lathika Kumari and the team was sent to Wandoor for carrying out the raid. The decoy team noticed that the Lush Green Bar & Restaurant was open and the decoy team entered the restaurant of the Resort and ordered liquor. Accordingly one Md. Inamul Haque, The waiter served beer and whisky to the decoy team in presence of Saptarshi Ghosh, Chef cum acting Manager and charged Rs. 500/- and served them. Thereafter, the decoy team searched the room and recovered 23 bottles of IMFL of different brands which  were seized on the spot after observing all codal formalities. The Lush Green Bar & Restaurant, Wandoor was sealed. A case under section 188 IPC r.w.s 32 Reg. III rd of 1876 & 51(b) of DM Act 2005 was registered at PS CCS. The raid was conducted under the supervision of Sh. Ajay Rai, DANIPS, Dy.SP (CID) and overall command and supervision of Shri Ravi Kumar Singh, IPS, SP (CID).

The Andaman & Nicobar Police is taking all possible steps in making these islands free from anti-social activities and is keeping strict vigil to stop gambling, smuggling and proliferation of narcotics substances in these Islands. General Public is once again requested to pass on credible information on narcotics substances, illegal sale of liquor, gambling or any illegal activity on the telephone numbers: 233307, 232586, 100, & 9474233832. The identity of the informer will be kept secret.
