National Board of Examination to Designate DBRAIT or Other Suitable CBT

Port Blair, Oct. 5: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India to open Examination Centre at Port Blair for conducting NEET –PG examination from the year 2021 onwards. The demand was made since Online/ Computer Based Test facilities are available at Port Blair, which will save the time and other expenses for the aspiring candidates from A&N Islands.

Raising the issue on 27th Sept. 2020, the MP expressed that the undergraduate/MBBS doctors working at different Health Centres at far flung Islanders including in South Andaman, who are desirous to appear in the said examination are facing difficulties due to non-availability of examination centre at Port Blair. They are forced to proceed mainland by incurring time and travel expenses etc. Moreover, the number of candidates aspiring to appear NEET - PG examinations are also increasing in A&N Islands after the passing out of the first batch of MBBS doctors from ANIIMS.  

In response to the request made by MP, the National Board of Examination, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare vide their communication No. NBE/EDO/2020/457 dated 29.09.2020 has informed Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, that the National Board of Examination shall take necessary steps to designate Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, Port Blair or any other suitable computer based test (CBT) centre for conducting NEET - PG Examination centre from the session 2021 onwards.
