Port Blair, Oct. 8: In a major breakthrough, A&N Police once again strikes at the root of the drug problem in the Islands. A Joint team of South Andaman Police and CID consisting of ASP Narra Chaitanya, IPS and SI K. Ilangovan left for Hutbay on 06/10/2020 with some Intelligence inputs. In an operation closely coordinated from Port Blair by PC/1418 Shiva Kumar and PC/586 Suresh Kumar, a raiding team was constituted which was led by ASP Narra Chaitanya, IPS, SDPO SA including SI Ilangovan, SHO Bamboolfat and SI Subramani, SHO Hutbay. The team successfully conducted the raid on the house of Sukhen Hajra, 68 yrs, R/o R K Pur, Hutbay and seized 3.096 kgs of Methamphetamine from his possession. 

The team also arrested 3 residents of Hutbay in connection with previous NDPS cases of Methamphetamine drug trafficking registered at PS Bambooflat and CCS. A&N Police appealed to residents of Islands in general and Hutbay in particular to desist from any kind of drug trafficking and to surrender drugs if they have possession of it.
