Port Blair, Oct. 19: Ms V.  K Mariyam Bibi, ex -Adhyaksha, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman has expressed gratitude to the Director shipping service for allowing four wheelers in the vehicle ferry plying between Bambooflat to Chatham and vice versa. Due to rise in Covid-19 cases, the vehicles were restricted in this route.  After a request was made by PRI's, NGO's and general public the same has been restored.

The auto rickshaw drivers are facing difficulties to go to Port Blair as these vehicles are not allowed in vehicle ferry. In this regard Mariyam has requested the DSS to consider their request to allow atleast two autos in a trip in the said route. The Director Shipping has assured her to do the needful.
