Port Blair, Nov. 3: In a function held at Beodnabad Panchayat Hall, the Deputy Commissioner (SA), Shri Suneel Anchipaka, IAS along with the SDM, Tehsildar, BDO and other staff distributed Land License to the beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin). The scheme was launched to address the housing gaps existing in the rural areas. PMAY(G) aims to provide pucca houses with basic facilities along with a hygienic kitchen to those living in kutcha houses. The houses built under the PMAY (G) scheme, are low-cost and disaster-resilient.

The beneficiaries are basically from Rutland village and is availing land in Beodnabad village. Later DC visited the land which have been allotted to the beneficiaries under this scheme and congratulated all the beneficiaries and assured them of all kinds of support from the District Administration in future also.

The District Administration is concurrently focusing on taking up developmental works, while tackling the COVID pandemic.
