Port Blair, Jan 27: Five officers and personnel of A&N Police have been conferred upon prestigious Police, Fire Service and Home Guard& Civil Defence medals on the occasion of 72nd Republic Day 2021. The awards were announced by the Ministry of Home Affairs on the eve of the Republic Day.
Shri Madhup Tewari, IPS, ADGP (Law & Order) has been awarded the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service in recognition of his professional acumen, outstanding performance and unblemished service record. Inspector Arun Kumar Singh, currently serving in South Andaman District has been awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious Service.
Sub-Inspector Moti Lal Paul of A&N Fire Service has received the Fire Service Medal for Meritorious Service. Home Guards Smti. Anna Kutty Thomas and Smt. G.Neelaveni are the recipients of the Home Guard and Civil Defence Medal for Meritorious Service.
Sh. Satyendra Garg, IPS, DGP, A&N Islands has complimented all the awardees for the distinctions conferred on them and for bringing laurels and honour to A&N Police. He wished them every success in their future careers.
