Port Blair, Feb. 1: The Non- Gazetted Government Officers’ Association, A & N Islands organized various programmes today as a part of observance of ‘Call Attention Day’ all over the Islands. The programme was organized on budget presentation day as per the call of Confederation of Central Govt. Employees and workers, New Delhi to invite the attention of Central Government towards various pending demands of Central Government employees and workers.

Day-long campaign and pamphlet distributions were conducted by different Branches and Subcommittees among employees working in various offices and schools on the Charter of Demands raised by the Confederation. The demands included (i) Withdrawing the decision to corporatize, privatise Railway Production Units, Ordinance factories etc. (ii) Immediate release of 03 installment of DA/DR due to Central Government employees and Pensioners (iii) Settlement of 7th CPC Anomalies (iv) Withdrawal of NPS and restoration of guaranteed defined Pension (v) Withdrawal of FR 56(j) (vi) Ensure 100% Compassionate Appointment, etc. The campaign culminated with a meeting held at Crusade House which was attended by several members of the Association. Shri R.Rajendran, President, Shri T.S.Sreekumar, General Secretary, Shri S.L.Vinjit, Asst. Gen. Secretary spoke in the meeting, whereas Shri H B Choudhary, Shri Deepak Karmakar, Shri Bikash Mandal, etc. led the campaign.
