Port Blair, March 12: The Member of Parliament, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Superintending Engineer, Electricity Department, A&N Administration to explore the feasibility for laying overhead electrical line with new poles at Nayashaher, Tsunami Shelter area, Guptapara Gram Panchayat. The underground electric line laid by the department years ago are damaged now due to which, power supply to these area is interrupted regularly. The villagers particularly students are facing difficulties for attending their one line classes, e-services and other domestic works etc.

The Member of Parliament also requested the Executive Engineer, PHED, APWD, Prothrapur to lay new water pipe line at Nayashaher Tsunami Shelter area, Guptapara Panchayat as the villagers are not getting drinking water properly due to damage of existing pipelines at many places.
